Shared presence, independent tasks
Use the quiet presence of other working people to help you begin, continue, and finish the task in front of you.
Official room · Open 24/7Rainy CaféChoose a free seat and beginThe simple idea
Body doubling means doing your own task while another person is present and doing theirs. The other person does not manage your work. Their presence simply adds structure and makes it harder for the moment to drift away unnoticed.
Lo-Fi Nook turns that presence into a calm visual space. You choose a seat, see other occupied desks, and set a simple status such as Working, Reading, or Deep work. It can be useful for tasks that feel difficult to start, but it is a productivity tool rather than medical treatment.
How it works
There is nothing to install and no meeting to schedule.
Make the task concrete: reply to three emails, outline one page, or clear one surface.
Take an open seat and optionally tell the room what you plan to finish.
Keep the room open, use a focus round, and check in again when the task is done.
Why people stay
Your camera stays off and you decide whether to use chat or voice.
Choosing a seat turns “I should do this” into a specific session that has begun.
You can benefit from company without needing to entertain, explain, or perform.
Good for
The room provides the setting. You decide what a successful session means.
